Ever hear of the “Peter Principle?” That’s where one reached the highest level of their own incompetence. You may excel in one area then get promoted and suddenly, you are managing people and that isn’t exactly your forte. That’s OK. For some, they realize that they are perfectly happy where they are doing what they do best.
If this is you, the key is to demonstrate that while you haven’t had upward mobility, you have grown and developed as an employee.
