SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE, Mexico
Rosewood San Miguel de Allende appointed Alexandra Long as the hotel’s first-ever Art Concierge. In this new role, Long will help guests discover the vibrant creative scene of San Miguel de Allende through immersive programming, curated excursions, and personalized tours.
“Given San Miguel de Allende’s rich cultural heritage and growing profile as an art tourism destination, we wanted to offer our guests an interactive resource for discovering the craft and creativity of the city’s artisans,” said Alfredo Rentería, managing director of Rosewood San Miguel de Allende. “With a distinguished academic background, Alexandra will bring incredible value to the role of Art Concierge by curating on and off property guest experiences that enhance Rosewood San Miguel de Allende’s strong commitment to local art.”
As Art Concierge, Long will be responsible for managing Rosewood San Miguel de Allende’s rotating collection of authentic Mexican artwork in the hotel’s public spaces, dealing with the acquisition, care and display of each individual piece. Long will also coordinate educational art talks and tours, oversee the on-property, monthly art market and serve as a resource for both guests and visitors looking to learn more about San Miguel’s rich artisan culture.
The addition of the new Art Concierge position builds upon Rosewood San Miguel de Allende’s already robust art-focused guest programming, which includes the Artist in You, a unique welcome amenity that allows guests to tap their inner artist with an easel, paint and inspiration from the city’s iconic skyline.
Prior to joining Rosewood San Miguel de Allende, Long earned her Master of Arts in Italian & Classics at the University of Edinburgh, which included experience studying at the University of Bologna, where she worked in field archaeology at the Marzabotto excavation site and volunteered at the Medieval Museum of Bologna. Long is currently finishing her Masters in Conservation of Fine Art with a specialization in Easel Painting at Northumbria Institute.
