Salamander Resort & Spa announced the appointment of Christina Gibson as associate director of catering. Gibson will dive into her new role by managing the logistics and handling event details and simplifying the planning process.

With over a decade of expertise in the hospitality industry, Gibson brings a rich background in guest services, event planning and sales management. She held various positions at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in McLean, Va., and the Westfields Marriott in Chantilly, Va. She later served as catering and golf coordinator and more recently as the event sales manager at the nearby resort, Lansdowne Resort and Spa in Leesburg, Va.

Gibson’s time and immersion in the industry has molded her into a detail oriented professional with strong leadership qualities while her experiences in Northern Virginia have expanded her knowledge of the area’s demographics. She has developed a comprehensive understanding of what companies, guests and locals are looking for when hosting in Northern Virginia – easily exceeding their expectations.

“Christina’s knowledge of the luxury hospitality sector fits right in with the Salamander experience we provide to our guests,” said Doug Camp, director of sales and marketing. “She has an outstanding record of catering success and commitment to excellence, making her the ideal candidate for this position.”
