The Scottsdale Plaza Resort concluded its three-year property improvement plan. The resort features 40,000 square feet of meeting space, which was included in the renovation. In 2015, the resort upgraded its Standard Rooms. In 2016, the resort conducted upgrades to its Suite Category of rooms. The latest round of upgrades impacted all common areas, including its ballrooms, front desk, lobby, meeting spaces, restrooms and gift shop. It also included all-new furniture, lighting, flooring and wall coverings.
Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco completed the renovation of more than 15,000 square feet of meeting space, including the Veranda Ballroom and the addition of a new executive boardroom, the SoMa Suite. The final phase of the $20 million transformation will be completed in March 2018 with the renovation of the 277 guest rooms and suites at the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel. The hotel partnered with New York-based Meyer Davis, a design boutique specializing in residential, hospitality, retail and workplace environments.
The Ritz-Carlton Bacara, Santa Barbara opened in the coastal Southern California city. The former Bacara Resort & Spa completed a multimillion-dollar renovation that included all 358 of its guest rooms and suites, plus the resort’s six culinary venues. Located on 78 acres of exclusive California coastline, the oceanfront resort offers direct beach access and three salt-water swimming pools, a 42,000-square-foot luxury spa with 36 treatment rooms, a salon and a fitness center, as well as more than 70,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space.
Marriott International announced the opening of a new dual-branded hotel development in downtown Denver, bringing two of its European-inspired concepts to the city: Le Meridien and AC Hotels by Marriott. The 20-story development features a 272-room Le Meridien hotel and a 223-room AC Hotel by Marriott, and is owned and managed by White Lodging Services Corporation. Le Meridien Denver Downtown will offer more than 12,000 square feet of event space, including a 5,700-square-foot ballroom. AC Hotel by Marriott Denver Downtown offers 9,000 square feet of event space and six meeting rooms.
The JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa unveiled two modern-style event spaces, the Palms Executive Conference Center and Cascade, a 10,000-square-foot space with an outdoor patio with waterfalls and gardens emphasizing imaginative meetings. The conference center offers 15,000 square feet of customizable indoor/outdoor and prefunction space with natural light, including the Parian Room, which can accommodate 50 to 200 guests, and nine breakout rooms that can house 10 to 100 guests.
Columbia Hospitality launched a $12 million renovation of Salish Lodge & Spa that features upgraded luxury amenities inspired by the lodge’s heritage. The project will include all guest rooms, incorporating a contemporary mountainside concept with features that include gas fireplaces and deluxe bathrooms with a soaking tub or oversized showers with dual showerheads; suites will offer both. The iconic 84-room property can accommodate groups of up to 180 in seven meeting spaces and is located 30 minutes east of Seattle in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains overlooking the 268-foot Snoqualmie Falls.
