SALT LAKE CITY

Kimpton Monaco Salt Lake City announced the hire of Ric Tanner as its new general manager. Tanner brings over 30 years of industry experience to the Monaco, with his most recent role serving as the regional director of sales and marketing where he oversaw and provided support for Kimpton hotels located within the Pacific Northwest, Mountain and Midwest regions.

“As a longtime resident of Salt Lake City I look forward to the opportunity to take a more hands on approach with the Monaco, a property that has upheld Kimpton’s heartfelt values for nearly 20 years,” said Tanner. “I’m excited to return to the Monaco, support our amazing staff and continue to find exciting ways to care for our passionately loyal customers.”

During his tenure with Kimpton, Tanner successfully launched eight new hotels and led numerous integration efforts. His day-to-day property support included a robust list of responsibilities that included: strategic planning, sales training and administration, recruitment and retention, owner relations, sales infrastructure, and system conversions. Tanner’s dedicated leadership style helped position his regions to lead the company in sales productivity, forecast to budget, market share and sales employee satisfaction.

Prior to joining Kimpton, Tanner served as director of sales and marketing for a variety of industry-leading Fortune 500 companies, including Starwood Hotels & Resorts (Sheraton, Westin), Hilton Worldwide (DoubleTree), Radisson Hotel Group and Marriott Hotels.
