Meeting professionals’ social media feeds may be filled with good vibes Tuesday, April 23, 2019, as a worldwide effort to inspire 2 million people about the benefits of corporate social responsibility (CSR) events programming is set for a cyber blastoff.

The #CSRshareDay social media campaign by London-based Positive Impact Events is designed to inspire meeting professionals to make events more sustainable and CSR-minded with a 24-hour push hosted by sustainability experts around the world.

The effort, directly following Earth Day, which occurs on April 22, aims to accomplish the following:

  • Share the stories of people who are making a positive impact on sustainability.
  • Get more people talking about specific areas of sustainability that may not be discussed on a regular basis.
  • Connect people through the conversation of sustainability.
  • Share best practices, creative ideas and other strategies to inspire others.

There are nearly 20 volunteer host organizations that are staging #CSRshareDay time slots on Twitter this year during the 24-hour period to cover wide-ranging topics and tips related to sustainability and events. The posts will engage people to participate, share and follow throughout the day.

“One of the most inspiring things about this campaign has been the volunteer hosts fueling it and demonstrating the power of social media and global collaboration to make a change by creating a conversation about ‘we’ rather than sharing about ‘me,’” said Positive Impact Events CEO Fiona Pelham.
