Hotel Opens in Renovated Historic Buffalo Building

BUFFALO, N.Y.

The Ascend Hotel Collection from Choice Hotels International welcomed the Curtiss Hotel in Buffalo to its growing global portfolio of distinctive independent hotels and resorts.

This 68-room boutique hotel is located in the heart of downtown and features seven styles of unique guest rooms. Rooms are furnished and appointed with premium Stearns & Foster bed sets and equipped with state of the art technology including Crestron touchscreen room controllers and remote-controlled drapes and lighting. Spa-like bathrooms offer Beekman 1802 natural hand-crafted bath products, Bluetooth-enabled audio capability, therapeutic Bain Ultra air jet tubs with chromatherapy and aroma clouds and Steamist steam showers in 16 select rooms with chromatherapy and aromatherapy included.

Additionally, guests can relax at the hotel spa as well as in Buffalo's first and only indoor-outdoor urban hot springs that can accommodate up to 26 people.

Curtiss Hotel is home to the Chez Ami, a casual upscale Modern American/Italian restaurant featuring the only revolving bar in the region, providing year-round patio seating with Saturday and Sunday brunch offerings.

VUE Rooftop Lounge features indoor and outdoor seating where guests can take in panoramic views of downtown Buffalo, Lake Erie and the Canadian shoreline year round. With seating for up to 300, VUE has multiple rooms that can be reserved for private events.

Curtiss Hotel, conceived and developed by Mark D. Croce, president & CEO of Buffalo Development Corporation, is the result of a stunning transformation of the former Harlow C. Curtiss office building, from which the hotel takes its name. Once home to a furniture company, the building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Through the hotel's classic design, guests can feel part of local history while enjoying contemporary luxuries and conveniences. In addition to its rich interior decor, including an original historic corridor, the property is one of the largest terra cotta structures of its type in downtown Buffalo.
