JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort Unveils Enhancements

JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort & Spa completed a host of property renovations.

The project included the lobby, Hashani Spa, JW Market, Salud Terrace and exterior enhancements.

"It's been an exciting year to watch all of these enhancements unfold and come to fruition," said Russ Bond, general manager of JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort & Spa. "We are always striving to stay relevant and ahead of industry trends, while at the same time, listening to our guest's feedback and creating a signature JW Marriott experience for them on every level."

The Tucson property's lobby was redesigned to complement the vast open space and picturesque views, bringing in a touch of contemporary but cozy seating enclaves and configurations while still maintaining its southwest feel. Relocated from the lower lobby, a much larger Starbucks is now in the upper lobby level.

The resort's 20,000-square-foot Hashani Spa underwent a thorough transformation including design, all new furniture and equipment as well as resurfacing the spa's private adult's only, saline pool, cabanas, decking and hot tubs.

The Spa's third level entry was completely transformed and opens to an inviting reception area. An Express Treatment Pod was added to provide guests-on-the-go with 12- or 25-minute treatments for scalp massages or to relieve tense shoulders.

Hashani's lower level lobby features a wider, open space with floor to ceiling windows featuring mountain views. The salon was also updated.

Paying tribute to the land in which Hashani Spa and the resort were built, a three-story high, metal cactus sculpture predominantly graces the center of The Spa's large circular staircase. In the Tohono O'odham language, Hashani means Saguaro which is how The Spa's name came to be.

JW Market is located on the lower lobby level and inspired by the open-air festivals and Mercado's of Southern Arizona and Sonora Mexico. The market offers a diverse selection of locally-inspired specialty snacks and products from Tucson's purveyors.

Salud Terrace, gathering spot on property, and home to the resort's nightly tequila toast, was refreshed with all new furniture and additional fire pits and the interior bar was completely refinished.

The property is nestled on 50 acres in the saguaro-covered foothills of Tucson National Park and features 575 guest rooms with picturesque views. There is 88,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space on property as well as six dining experiences, a fitness center, tennis center and a collection of outdoor water features.
