Disaster Update: Destination/Property Updates

Here's the latest recovery update from Visit Houston/Houston First following Hurricane Harvey.

Following is an update issued Friday, Sept. 1, by Visit Houston.

VisitDallas Director of Communications Stephanie Faulk shared a couple new web resources for planners.

Tropical Storm Harvey (now a tropical depression) brought rain and flooding to Port Arthur, Texas.

Landry’s sent an email on Thurs., Aug. 31, notifying media outlets that its Houston-area hotels remain open for business.

None of the scheduled meetings or events at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center will be affected in its shelter efforts.

Stories of hope and heroism have emerged within the news about first responders who are on the ground in Houston.

Visit Houston provided its first official storm update in the afternoon on Tues., Aug. 29.

The George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston was activated as an emergency shelter.
