La Jolla Shores Hotel unveiled new outdoor and indoor oceanfront spaces in January, including The Shores Lawn, located adjacent to the beachfront The Shores Restaurant, and Acapulco Deck. Both new spaces are ideal for group events of up to 200 people and provide open-air settings complete with panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean for an unfiltered SoCal experience.

The Shores Lawn measures 2,000 square feet and is nestled along the hotel’s acclaimed restaurant steps away from the sand, offering guests access to both The Shores Restaurant and the beach. The new lawn is suitable for receptions, banquets and one-of-a-kind oceanfront events. 

The second level of La Jolla Shores Hotel features the reimagined Acapulco Deck, a 1,320-square-foot rooftop venue offering ocean vistas from the indoor setup and the adjacent outdoor tri-level terrace. Group event offerings include reception-, theater-, classroom-, conference- and banquet-style setups for groups ranging 60-120. 

Graduate Hotels opened the 33rd hotel in its collection, Graduate Palo Alto, in the heart of Palo Alto and blocks from Stanford University. The property stands within the iconic former Hotel President, which has been renovated and restored to honor the building’s past and history of the neighboring community.

Graduate Palo Alto features 100 rooms and two signature F&B concepts, Lou & Herbert’s, a lobby-level, day-to-night cafe; and President’s Terrace, a vibrant rooftop bar showcasing panoramic views of Palo Alto. Perched atop the six-story hotel, President’s Terrace offers an intimate setting complete with an outdoor fireplace, woven wicker barstools and couches with plush pillows, plus a menu of playful cocktails.

Singing Hills Golf Resort at Sycuan, a 20-minute drive from San Diego, announced the completion of renovations to all guest rooms, suites and hospitality suites, which aimed to revive the nostalgia of the resort’s “mid-century glory days” after opening more than 66 years ago.

The hotel’s 82 guest rooms, 14 suites and four hospitality suites were completely upgraded with new paint, flooring and window treatments, as well as reupholstered furniture and headboards. Singing Hills Golf Resort also offers event space and accommodations for groups as intimate as 20 to as large as 300.

Guests and groups are encouraged to take advantage of the resort’s 54 holes across courses that have made Singing Hills Golf Resort recognized for the past seven years as the No. 1 golf course in San Diego by readers of the San Diego Union Tribune. Enjoy onsite activities with groups that include swimming pools, spa treatments and fitness center opportunities.

Washington

Formerly the Motif Seattle hotel, Hilton announced the opening of Hilton Motif Seattle, bringing 319 guest rooms and more than 36,000 square feet of meeting and event space to the downtown area. Located on Fifth Avenue between Pike Place Market and Union Street, Hilton Motif Seattle is within walking distance from the Seattle Convention Center and new Summit, which welcomed its first group on January 25. 

Hilton Motif Seattle also features Frolik Kitchen + Cocktails, the hotel’s signature restaurant and rooftop bar located on the fifth floor with menu items like wild seafood and foraged mushrooms. The space is available for private events for up to 260 guests, with more than 4,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space. 

Other hotel meeting spaces include two grand ballrooms with floor-to-ceiling windows and venues with capacities of 15 to 680 guests. 

With a projected fourth-quarter 2023 opening, InterContinental Hotel – Bellevue at the Avenue celebrated a topping-off ceremony in late January after initially breaking ground in January 2020. The 208-room hotel will occupy nine floors of a 26-story tower in the heart of Bellevue’s retail and cultural district.

InterContinental Hotel – Bellevue at the Avenue will feature an outdoor deck and patio, full-service spa, fitness center and more than 12,000 square feet of meeting space, including a grand ballroom, junior ballroom and additional meeting rooms. The property will also welcome signature bar and dining concepts including a new restaurant brand featuring Masaharu Morimoto, widely known as an Iron Chef on the Japanese cooking show and its spinoff, Iron Chef America.
