Troy Wood, Director of Sales, Terranea Resort

The luxury 582-room Terranea Resort on the Palos Verdes Peninsula named longtime hospitality industry veteran Troy Wood as its new director of sales.

Wood’s new position puts him in charge of developing, overseeing and coordinating all sales initiatives for the oceanfront resort, a premier meetings and events destination situated on 102 acres and offering 135,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor multifunctional spaces, including the 18,000-square-foot main ballroom.

“Terranea Resort is truly a special place unlike any other,” Wood said. “I am thrilled to join the team in providing elevated experiences combined with superior levels of service to our guests and clientele.”

Wood brings more than 15 years of hospitality industry experience to his new role on the resort’s sales and marketing team. Most recently, he was the director of sales at Park Hyatt Aviara Resort, Golf Club and Spa, a luxury resort in Carlsbad, just north of San Diego.

Woods had a long tenure with Hyatt and was director of sales and marketing at the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort and Spa in New Mexico as well as assistant area director of sales at Grand Hyatt San Antonio and Hyatt Regency San Antonio in Texas. He also has experience working as director of catering and events at the Grand Hyatt San Antonio and as director of catering and convention services for the Hyatt Regency Jersey City.
