Scarlet Hotel

May 2022 brings a new hotel to Lincoln, Nebraska. Plus, the Abbey Resort in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin unveils renovated spaces.

Nebraska

Situated within the Innovation Campus at the University of Nebraska, The Scarlet Hotel opened May 6. Each guest room in the 154-room property features subtle design touches that are a tribute to the innovators and game changers that call Nebraska home.

“The Scarlet Hotel was crafted with the heart and hospitality of Nebraskans in mind, so each guest is guaranteed to experience what Nebraska is known for. From homegrown generosity, and genuine connection, to modern charm and innovation, we created each stay to feel tailored uniquely for each guest so that no matter how they choose to spend their visit, quality and comfort remain the common theme,” said General Manager Mark Mitchell.

Meeting planners will enjoy the hotel’s location adjacent to the NIC Conference Center, along with three onsite event rooms totaling to 1,328 square feet. Buyouts of the rooftop bar Barred Owl are also possible. Located on the 6th floor, the bar and The Founders Room offer sweeping views of Memorial Stadium and Lincoln's skyline. The Scarlet Hotel can accommodate groups of up to 400 guests while offering onsite catering and a dedicated events team.

Additional hotel amenities include a fitness center, yoga room, and complimentary shuttle service to and from the airport, Haymarket, and within Lincoln.

The property is also taking an active hand in shaping the next generation of hospitality professionals, partnering with University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Hospitality Restaurant and Tourism Management Department and will offer courses in the hotel.

The Abbey Resort

Lake Geneva’s only full-service resort, The Abbey Resort, reopened its newly renovated 35,000-square-foot Avani Spa in March. The spa modernization cost $2 million and now includes 16 luxury treatment rooms, two new couples’ suites, two salt and infrared relaxation areas, updated spa and salon services menu, and a revamped fitness center. The spa is putting a greater emphasis on holistic well-being in mind, body and spirit, offering experiences inspired by the unique elements of the Lake Geneva area.

The resort offers Mindful Meetings, a program that incorporates more aspects of wellness during meetings including mindful teambuilding activities, active and relaxing breaks like meditation and yoga sessions, enriching culinary experiences and more.

The Abbey Resort’s guest rooms are also in the midst of a refresh, scheduled for completion in early summer 2022. The spa and guest room renovation follow a revamp of some of the resort’s meeting spaces in 2020. The Harbor Ballroom and its prefunction space overlooking the Abbey Harbor along with our Wisconsin Ballroom were completely remodeled, continuing the clean, airy, lake house style incorporated throughout the resort. Included with the new look was increased internet bandwidth and new lighting.
