Sage Advice

Welcome to the August issue, which offers our annual Best of MidAmerica Awards.

Turn to page 25 to see if any of your favorites have made the cut— and this planner-chosen list could be a great site selection aid, too.

And right before the Best of MidAmerica award-winners, on page 24, is a feature that's literally been four years in the making.

In her "Green Pathway" story, Marlene Goldman reports on the eight new APEX/ASTM Environmentally Sustainable Event Standards that have been issued by the CIC—only one more to go!

And last, but certainly not least, Ruth A. Hill's page-22 "Storm Warnings" piece details what contingencies association planners should consider to protect their delegates from disaster.

Remember: It can happen to you, so be prepared.
