Convene Begins National Expansion in Virginia

TYSONS CORNER, Va.

Convene is beginning its national expansion by developing its first Washington, D.C. area location in Tysons Corner, Va.

Convene worked closely with Lerner Enterprises, Rockville, Md., one of Washington, D.C.’s largest private real estate developers, to lease 15,000 square feet at 1800 Tysons Boulevard in the Corporate Office Centre at Tysons II. Convene is aiming to transform the former site of Monterrey Fish Grotto restaurant into a first-class conference and event center.  The retail location, just off the main building lobby, features dramatic 20-foot floor-to-ceiling glass walls allowing in natural lighting and will offer a variety of meeting rooms to host conferences, training programs and events.

PwC, one of Convene’s steady clients in New York, is the signature tenant of the 320,000-square-foot, 13-story “Class A” office building. The building features a nine-level, connected parking garage and a pedestrian bridge which connects it to Tysons Galleria and adjacent office buildings; there is a Ritz Carlton hotel adjacent to the building.

“Convene at Tysons Corner” will be the company’s fifth conference center since its founding in 2009 and its first development outside of New York. The target date for the Tysons Corner opening is Nov. 15, 2013.
