Camarillo Ranch House
Camarillo founding father Adolfo Camarillo’s ranch can handle up to 600 lunch or dinner guests on its lawn and in its garden sites, and 250 in the 5,200-square-foot “Big Red Barn.” Small dinner parties can use its Queen Ann Victorian-style mansion.

Heritage Square
Oxnard’s pioneer families are honored in 15 resorted structures, with an open-air plaza that can host up to 200. Other venues include a rose garden, the Victorian-era McGrath House and a banquet room at La Dolce Vita Restaurant.

Olivas Adobe Historical Park
Up to 500 can gather in Ventura at this landmark adobe home and courtyard built between 1847 and 1849. Venues include a rose garden and the courtyard under a bell archway and grape arbor.

San Buenaventura Mission
California history is the star at the ninth and last mission founded by Father Junipero Serra, more than 200 years ago. The original church building and gardens can accommodate up to 300 for dinner and 500 seated for a conference.

Scarlett Belle
This paddlewheel riverboat plies the waters of Oxnard’s Channel Islands Harbor and can accommodate up to 150 with an onboard buffet and entertainment.

Previously, he worked as the Asia, Canada, Pacific Northwest and Western U.S. editor at Travel Weekly magazine and TravelAge West. Before joining the dual editorial staff producing destination sections for Travel Weekly and TravelAge West, Tyler was the Africa, Israel, Middle East, Switzerland and Pacific Northwest editor at TravelAge West. He also undertook general news and feature assignments while working at the magazines. 

 

Besides reporting on the travel trade, Tyler has covered the real estate industry, held various editorial positions at the San Francisco-based national satire magazine The Nose, wrote freelance technology industry pieces and covered the San Francisco 49ers and Oakland Raiders for a bilingual newspaper in San Francisco. He has a B.A. in Journalism from San Francisco State University, where he worked in various editorial capacities on its award-winning student magazine, Prism.
