UT Austin CC Expansion Sets Completion Date

AUSTIN, Texas

The AT&T Hotel and Conference Center will debut 30,000 square feet of new meeting and event space with its expansion opening January 2018. The expansion will include the 15,000-square-foot Zlotnik Family Ballroom, a multi-use space for business meetings, conferences, weddings, graduations and social gatherings.

Once the addition is complete, the AT&T Hotel & Conference Center will offer a total of 80,000 square feet of flexible space and 53 meeting rooms to accommodate groups of six to 1,600 people.

In addition to the Zlotnik Family Ballroom, the expansion will include nine additional meeting rooms, directly connected to the AT&T Hotel and Conference Center by an enclosed walkway. The new space transitions from the current space into the new ballroom’s 5,000-square-foot pre-event space with natural light cascading through the built-in skylights. The expansion is part of Rowling Hall, which will also house The University of Texas at Austin’s McCombs School of Business graduate programs.

The pre-function space of the Zlotnik Family Ballroom will feature a large mural from José Parlá, a Brooklyn-based artist known for his paintings, sculpture, photography and architectural collaborations. The mural will be his most ambitious project to date, occupying 4,000 square feet. The artwork will highlight Austin’s natural environment and cityscape and will feature Parlá’s characteristic style.

The new meeting and event spaces, designed by Ennead Architects, are designed to accommodate various types of events and room arrangements and will feature an abundance of natural light. With a wide array of room sizes and layout options, the AT&T Hotel and Conference Center can host everything from intimate boardroom meetings to wedding receptions and large scale corporate events.

The AT&T Hotel and Conference Center is owned by The University of Texas and is located at the south entrance of campus, nestled between the UT Tower and Texas State Capitol. Located in downtown Austin, the 297-key property offers three on-site dining options, including The Carillon restaurant.
