Innovation & Development

Ongoing developments across the city have raised the bar for meeting and convention offerings in the city. New and enhanced venues like the recently opened Vue Orleans, a culturally immersive attraction with 360-degree views atop the newly opened Four Seasons Hotel + Residences and the expansion of the National WWII Museum has changed the city skyline with the addition of the Bollinger Canopy of Peace.

The investment of global, luxury and lifestyle hotel brands such as the Four Seasons Hotel + Residences, The Virgin Hotels and Caesar’s Entertainment underscores New Orleans as the place to do business.

The New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center has transformed 7.5 acres of Convention Center Blvd. into a lush pedestrian park to include interactive water features, art installations, live event spaces, shaded gathering spaces and rain gardens.

New Orleans has a historic architectural heritage. Nearly one billion dollars in hotel renovations have been completed or are planned to begin. The preservation and enhancements to these spaces and places pay tribute to the immersive work done in our community to be a premier meetings and events destination.

Sustainable Meeting Facility

The New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center has just completed one of the largest energy-saving initiatives ever attempted in the region. The project included an overhaul of the facility’s lighting, replacing over 4,000 light fixtures with LED’s and retrofitting 2,000 light fixtures throughout the offices, corridors, and stairwells and a rebuild of the heating and HVAC systems with a new control room and operations center. The convention center also replaced four 1,200-ton water cooled chillers with new high efficiency systems, installed more than 60 energy-efficient water bottle filling stations and upgraded 36 restrooms with low-flow fixtures making the facility significantly more sustainable.

Convenient and Walkable

New Orleans’ unique landscape provides an opportunity for groups to experience the city like a local. The compact geographical footprint makes New Orleans convenient and easy for attendees to explore on foot. Hundreds of hotels, restaurants, venues and attractions are nestled within a two-mile downtown area. The streets of New Orleans provide the historic sights, sounds and smells that help planners design unforgettable experiences for each meeting.

Food and Music

Musicians in New Orleans

It is the passion of the community and local businesses that help us build a premier destination for meetings. The local food and music take center stage when people reference some of their best memories of New Orleans. They are two essential components to how we infuse hospitality and culture in every aspect of the group experience.

New Orleans is the home to many world-renowned chefs, who change attendees’ palates with legendary cuisines. Meeting spaces are filled with new flavors inspired by family traditions from well-known eateries that spark networking around the table. We also believe special experiences are steeped in every step. As attendees walk from session to exhibit, local melodies softly play in the background to set the tone for innovation and collaboration.
