Convene Portfolio Announces New Hospitality Group

Convene Hospitality Group made its debut September 16 as the new parent company uniting Convene and etc.venues.

Convene Hospitality Group said the move to unite the brands opens the door to acquire additional brands in the future.

The group’s mission is to grow and develop the two brands toward hospitality-driven operations as well as launch and acquire new properties to cater to the needs of its global clients.

Convene’s acquisition of etc.venues in 2023 allowed for brand segmentation in 2024. Convene properties began focusing on larger, customized events and premium workplace experiences while etc.venues focused on smaller, simple meetings.

Ryan Simonetti, president and CEO of Convene Hospitality Group, said the culmination of the brands has been 16 years in the making. Convene currently functions as the largest non-hotel meeting and event operators in the U.S. and the U.K., serving a diverse variety of clients across all industries and regions, such as local businesses or Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 companies.

“We understand the types of meetings and events that are happening, and we’ve proven that if we can find a great location and deliver a great product...our clients are going to show up and they’re going to use it, and they're going to find value in it,” Simonetti said.

Simonetti said the position as a multi-branded company can help cater specific cases to each client's needs, adding that the in-person events climate is currently robust.

“Live experiences, as you know, are more important today than maybe ever before,” Simonetti said.
