 EXPANDING THE MAGIC OF MEETINGS!

Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Begins $275 Million Expansion and Transformation.

Exciting changes are in motion at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin, where construction is already underway on a transformative $275 million expansion and renovation project—the largest in the resort’s history. This ambitious initiative will dramatically enhance the property’s meeting, event and guest experiences, solidifying its place as a top convention destination in the heart of Walt Disney World Resort.

At the heart of this transformation is the addition of over 100,000 square feet of brand-new meeting and event space. Once completed, the resort will boast over 450,000 square feet of total event space, positioning the Swan and Dolphin among the largest convention hotels on the East Coast.

Stunning New Spaces, Seamless Functionality

The newly constructed two-story convention space is already taking shape adjacent to the Walt Disney World Dolphin. It includes:

  • A 38,000-square-foot ballroom with 24,000 square feet of pre-function space
  • A 40,000-square-foot multi-function space with an additional 14,000 square feet of pre-function space

The design features bigger areas for networking as well as more windows, allowing outside light to stream in—all blending modern architectural elements with the signature Michael Graves aesthetic that defines the resort’s look.

These spaces will offer flexibility for groups of all sizes—from massive corporate gatherings to intimate social events—while maintaining flow and cohesion between levels and adjacent areas.

Flexibility, Growth, and Technology for the Future

The expansion is more than just increased square footage—it’s about future-ready meeting design. The new annex allows for multiple events to take place simultaneously across two levels while still supporting large-scale, single-program formats. Event planners will benefit from flexible layouts, enhanced connectivity and next-generation audiovisual technology throughout the space.

In addition, outdoor infrastructure will be added near the new annex to support temporary pavilions, ideal for growing groups or immersive activations. With a seamless indoor-outdoor flow, the expansion supports not only scale but also creativity in event planning.

A Modern Refresh of Existing Spaces

The project also includes significant upgrades to the Swan and Dolphin’s existing 348,711 square feet of meeting space, most of which is already complete at the Dolphin. These enhancements include fresh color palettes of whites, blues and grays; upgraded carpeting and air walls; and improved functionality across ballrooms, breakout rooms and corridors.

At the Swan, similar updates were completed and finalized earlier in 2025, further elevating the experience for returning groups and first-time guests alike.

Renovated Guest Rooms at the Swan

Beyond meeting space, the project includes a full renovation of the Walt Disney World Swan’s guest rooms, ensuring that the guest experience matches the modern elegance of the meeting facilities. The updated rooms feature luxury tile flooring, stylish new furnishings and a sleek, contemporary design. These updates build on the success of the Swan Reserve, which opened in 2021 with 349 boutique-style guest rooms and upscale amenities.

Combined, the Swan, Dolphin and Swan Reserve will offer 2,619 guest rooms, giving planners and attendees a wide range of accommodations and price points—without ever leaving the property.

A Property Built for Magic and Meetings

The Swan and Dolphin isn’t just expanding—it’s evolving into a next-generation convention resort. With its unparalleled location within walking distance of EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, guests enjoy both business productivity and theme park magic. The resort’s extensive offerings include:

  • 23 restaurants and lounges
  • Six pools and a white-sand beach
  • Mandara Spa
  • Outdoor function spaces with fireworks views
  • Complimentary transportation to Walt Disney World theme parks
  • Disney hotel guest benefits like Early Theme Park Entry and Extended Evening Hours

A Strategic Investment in the Future

“This transformation is about more than adding square footage—it’s about delivering the best possible experience for our guests and meeting planners,” said Area General Manager Sean Verney. “We’re proud to invest in the future of this property and continue our legacy as a leader in the meetings and events industry.”

With construction already underway and completion expected by late summer 2026, the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin is actively shaping the future of hospitality in Central Florida.
