Get ready for something truly spectacular at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin! The resort is gearing up to unveil its brand-new event space, adding over 100,000 square feet of excitement to the property’s current offerings.
The three-hotel complex, comprised of the Dolphin, Swan and Swan Reserve, will open the expansion in late summer. It is part of an overall $275 million renovation that will give the complex a whopping 449,000 square feet of meeting and event space to pair with its 2,619 beautifully appointed guest rooms. That’s more room for unforgettable meetings, conventions and special events, further cementing its status as one of the Southeast’s premier convention hotels.
The two-story addition will offer contiguous connection to the Dolphin’s current event space adding 40,000 square feet of multi-purpose space, an elegant 38,000-square-foot divisible ballroom, and 38,000 square feet of pre-function areas designed for effortless networking and flow. The architecture preserves the iconic design of famed architect Michael Graves, blending water-inspired motifs with warm, contemporary finishes.
“This transformation is a game-changer,” said Sean Verney, Area General Manager of the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin. “We’re creating an unparalleled event experience that keeps our property at the forefront of the global meetings industry.”
In addition to the expansion, the property has also completed upgrades to the meeting spaces at both the Swan and Dolphin as well as the guest rooms at the Swan. Dolphin guest rooms are scheduled with similar upgrades. The enhancements are all part of an investment that further establishes the iconic property as the ideal location to usher in the next generation of meetings and events.
Once completed, the property will consist of more than 100 meeting rooms, including two executive boardrooms, seven ballroom options, 110,500 square feet of contiguous convention/exhibit space, outdoor function areas, three business centers and complimentary transportation to select locations within the Walt Disney World Resort. Additionally, the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin offers a variety of scenic and functional outdoor event spaces including a private beach, lake side terrace and causeway with views of EPCOT.
Located in the middle of Walt Disney World and within walking distance to two theme parks, groups hosting meetings at the resort enjoy access to exclusive Disney benefits. Planners can add a unique spark to events with world class event production and entertainment, behind the scenes educational tours, and even host events inside the four Walt Disney World theme parks such as a Festival Of The Lion King Gala inside Disney’s Animal Kingdom or a Grand Finale Illuminating Dessert Party in EPCOT. Other benefits include access to Walt Disney World group tickets and Disney character appearances.
Groups can indulge in the ultimate relaxation at the opulent Mandara Spa. Encompassing 10,500 square feet, this serene retreat promises a multisensory escape complete with an enchanting Tea Garden and a tranquil Meditation Garden centered around the iconic Meru Temple. Here, guests can embark on a journey where mind, body and spirit unite, basking in rejuvenating spa and salon treatments like the Orange Blossom Body Polish or Mandara Coffee and Coconut Milk Polish, designed to revive and inspire.
Guests are spoiled for choice when it comes to dining with 23 world-class restaurants and lounges throughout the resort including coastal cuisine from celebrity chef Todd English’s bluezoo, authentic Japanese cuisine and sushi at Kimonos, Italian fare at Il Mulino New York Trattoria and Mediterranean at Amare. The complex’s newest dining option is the acclaimed steakhouse Bourbon Steak from the Michelin and James Beard recognized celebrity chef, Michael Mina. The restaurant is noted for its premium wood-fired prime beef and fresh seafood, alongside signature dishes like the Maine Lobster Pot Pie and Miso Broiled Sea Bass.
Each of the three hotels at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin features its own unique amenities, ambiance and offerings, providing flexibility for groups to utilize guest rooms at one or all three of the hotels as well as indoor and outdoor space to best suit their needs.
Among the property’s more striking spaces is the breathtaking top-floor event space, The Vue. Perched on the 15th floor, of the Swan Reserve, the Vue dazzles as a modern, glass-walled rooftop ballroom and terrace offering mesmerizing, 360-degree panoramas of the Walt Disney World theme parks. The venue provides planners the option to host an event at twilight with the magic of EPCOT and Hollywood Studios fireworks painting the night sky, creating an unforgettable backdrop for guests.
