Tucson Meetings and Incentives Property Gets Big Refresh

In Tucson, Arizona, the JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort & Spa unveiled in late March a comprehensive renovation of its 115,000 square feet of meeting and event space. The project introduced a desert‑modern design, upgraded technology including enhanced audiovisual capabilities and LED-wall installations, and expanded indoor-to-outdoor gathering possibilities that showcase the Sonoran Desert environment.

Designed to host up to 3,300 attendees, the resort’s 38 meeting and event spaces—including the 20,000‑square‑foot Arizona Ballroom (Tucson’s largest) and 26 flexible breakout rooms—offer a newly refined aesthetic. Along with the expansive meeting facilities, the resort offers 575 guest rooms and suites that have been fully refreshed.

Our goal was to share the real Arizona with the world, and to create spaces that feel as inspiring as they are functional, and unmistakably authentic to Tucson.”

The redesign draws directly from the textures, tones, and rhythm of the Sonoran Desert. Natural, biophilic elements are layered with a calming palette of sand, stone, and saguaro-inspired greens. Native woods, woven textiles, and handcrafted details add warmth, while accents like aged leather, patinated metals, and canvas textures infuse subtle nods to the site’s history as a stagecoach route.

The renovation highlights the ability to have meeting sessions naturally transition into open-air receptions and meals beneath desert skies, or simply moments of quiet reflection.

Moments from Saguaro National Park, the resort also features 27 holes of golf, a spa, seven dining options, and a pool complex featuring southern Arizona’s largest lazy river and waterslide.

The JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort & Spa is 13 miles from Tucson International Airport, a 25-minute drive.
