Golf is a popular pastime along the Gulf of Mexico’s shore. Southern states with Gulf-front footage are filled with fine fairways and golf-related facilities for all skill levels and all seasons. In this region, it’s easy to incorporate the game of golf into the program—or even make it the main event.

Hilton launched Signia Hilton, a new brand focused on meetings and events. According to Hilton, the hotels will incorporate technology and design into every aspect of the guest experience. The global brand will include a portfolio of hotels in popular urban and resort locales. The first Signia Hilton properties will include Signia Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek, Signia Hilton Atlanta and Signia Hilton Indianapolis.

Hyatt debuted its Miraval spa and wellness brand in Austin with the opening of Miraval Austin. The property is set on 220 acres overlooking Lake Travis and is the brand’s second wellness resort to open outside of its flagship property in Tucson, Ariz.

The JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa announced a complete refresh throughout all 1,002 guest resort suites, scheduled to be completed by early March 2019. The resort underwent a renovation of its restaurants and lobby spaces last year.

Virgin Hotels unveiled its second property, Virgin Hotels San Francisco. The hotel, located in South of Market (SoMa) near Yerba Buena Gardens and the Moscone Center, features 194 guest accommodations, multiple dining and drinking outlets and 7,000 square feet of meeting space. The hotel is also near the new Central Subway Station, which, upon opening later this year will connect South of Market with Union Square and Chinatown.

DoubleTree by Hilton Lisle Naperville opened in the Chicago Metropolitan area. The 309-room hotel, which underwent a multimillion-dollar renovation prior to opening, boasts 19,000 square feet of meeting and event space. The hotel’s food and beverage offerings include Thirty 0 Three Restaurant, which serves three meals a day. There is also a lobby bar and 34-hour lobby pantry.

The Radisson Blu Hotel Reussen, Andermatt opened in Switzerland. Facing the Swiss Alps, the 224-room hotel is part of an extensive transformation that seeks to build on Andermatt’s growing status as a year-round destination for visitors.

Marriott International continues to expand its portfolio in the Philippines with the opening of the Sheraton Manila Hotel. The property is located at Resorts World Manila and is the first landmark seen upon arrival at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3.

JW Marriott Hotel Harbin River North opened. The property is the first for the brand in Northeast China and is located in the city’s business center, the Harbin Songbei district. The hotel's 345 guest rooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows, offering views of the islands and rivers that run throughout the city.

The Last Hotel St. Louis will open the spring of 2019 with 142 guest rooms and more than 6,000 square feet of meeting and event space. The downtown property will debut a bar and restaurant and a rooftop bar and lounge as well the Pantry stocked with local and house-made goods.
