Loews Hotels to Add Third Hotel to Arlington’s Sports & Entertainment District

Loews Hotels announced this week the details of the coming Americana by Loews Hotels – Arlington, the company’s third hotel set in Arlington, Texas’ Entertainment District.

Set to replace the existing Sheraton Arlington, Americana by Loews Hotels will announce itself to the market with a “ground-shaking” demolition of the Sheraton’s building in early June, followed by the start of construction. While Loews has not announced a scheduled opening date, it’s possible that a property of this size would come online sometime in the first half of 2028.

Americana by Loews Hotels will be the brand’s 28th property, and its name pays tribute to the iconic Americana Hotel in Bal Harbour, Florida, a Loews landmark that opened in 1956.

“This project reflects our strong belief in Arlington as a dynamic destination and our confidence in its continued growth,” said Alex Tisch, president and CEO of Loews Hotels.

The hotel will have 507 guest rooms, including 39 suites, and standard room sizes ranging from 350 to 400 square feet. Designed with meetings and events as a focus, the property will feature more than 83,000 square feet of total indoor and outdoor gathering space, including a 10,000-square foot Event Barn and a 23,000-square-foot Event Lawn.

The largest room on property will be the 17,300-square-foot Grand Ballroom, which will be complemented by a 6,800-square-foot Junior Ballroom plus more than a dozen breakout rooms.

When Americana by Loews Hotels opens, the Loews footprint in Arlington’s Entertainment District will be 1,695 guest rooms and 375,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space.

The anchor property in Arlington is the Loews Arlington Hotel & Convention Center, with 888 rooms and 266,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space. There’s also the Live! By Loews Hotel, a 300-room property that is connected via indoor skybridge to the Loews Arlington.

With more than 10 large restaurants and many more bars and attractions, the Entertainment District is adjacent to these hotels, and the stadiums for the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys are located in the district as well.

The Americana by Loews will be located three-quarters of a mile from the Loews Arlington.
