Montage Big Sky Breaks Ground As Destination’s Most High-End Property

Big Sky, Montana, is on track to get its first ultra-luxury resort in 2021. In September 2018, Montage International and CrossHarbor Capital Partners began construction on Montage Big Sky, a $400 million upscale resort set in the destination’s 3,500-acre Spanish Peaks enclave.

The property will feature a mountain modern design inspired by its natural setting, with materials including regional woods and stones.

Highlights at Montage Big Sky will include 150 guest rooms and suites and 39 Montage Residences, as well as nearly 13,000 square feet of meeting space.

Additional amenities will include a spa, restaurant, lobby bar and lounge, market, pub, bowling alley, indoor lap pool, swimming pool, fitness center, children’s program, ski lockers and skier services.

“The stunning natural beauty of Big Sky and ease of access to a world-class array of outdoor recreation makes this an extraordinary destination,” said Montage International CEO Alan J. Fuerstman.

Montage Big Sky will offer ski-in, ski-out access to Big Sky Resort’s 5,800 skiable acres and access to Spanish Peaks Mountain Club’s 18-hole Tom Weiskopf-designed golf course. Hiking, mountain biking, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing trails are also nearby, as well as rivers renowned for fly-fishing.

The high-end resort will be located less than one hour from the Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport and 45 minutes from Yellowstone National Park.
