Nominate a Meetings Trendsetter
Know someone who has stood tall and helped others during these trying times in the meetings and hospitality industry? We want to recognize them as a Meetings Trendsetter in our July/August issue!
All of us in the meetings and hospitality industry have shown great resolve in the last year since the pandemic closed large gatherings. We’ve jumped in headfirst to learn and execute what may be entirely new ways to conduct meetings, such as virtual and hybrid. We’ve taken on new roles in our organizations and helped our colleagues who face major career challenges.
This is your opportunity to recognize the trailblazers in our industry who have led the effort to keep business moving and organizations active and engaged.
Every year, Meetings Today selects some of these bright lights by stepping up to lead or lend a hand to those in need. Take a moment to make sure others know of their dedication.
Let us know who you think lead the way, and why, and we’ll share the love with your fellow planners and other industry partners in our Meetings Trendsetters section in the pages of Meetings Today and beyond.
The nomination process is simple. Here’s what we need from you:
- Your first name, last name, email address and name of your company
- First name, last name, email address and name of nominee’s company
- 2-3 sentences explaining why you’re nominating this person

20 Meetings Trendsetters Who Stepped Up When Their Industry Needed Them Most
From a global pandemic that decimated the hospitality industry to a police killing that sparked protests and activisim across the nation and the world, 2020 is a year no one who lived through it will forget.
To recognize the magnitude of these two events, we decided to “change the rules” of our annual Meetings Trendsetters to focus on the people who rose up during these challenging times.
Our new Meetings Today Excellence Awards recognize the contributions of meetings and events facilities that have risen to the challenge of serving their meeting and event planner clients, and those venues, vendors and other suppliers who showed flexibility, extended their services while short-staffed, transitioned to digital and hybrid meetings, or made sure your attendees will experience a safe meeting environment when they meet in-person deserve their due!
