Wyndham Hotel Group announced that 35 Wyndham Hotels and Resorts and Wingate by Wyndham hotels representing 5,668 rooms currently are under construction worldwide.
Five Wyndham hotels are under construction in Manhattan alone, three of which are scheduled to open later this year.
Construction of the 400-room luxury Wyndham Lake Buena Vista Hotel and Spa at Bonnet Creek Resort, adjacent to Walt Disney World at Lake Buena Vista, Fla., is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2010.
Other Wyndham hotels and resorts that are under construction include Cap Cana, Dominican Republic; Pirate’s Bay, Turks and Caicos Islands; Isla Margarita, Venezuela; Shanghai and Xiamen, China; Centennial, Colo.; Tulsa South, Okla.; and Polanco, Mexico.
The 137-room Wingate by Wyndham is being built Chihuahua, Mexico. Another 20 Wingate properties are currently under construction in the U.S.
