Massachusetts
The 164-suite Springhill Suites by Marriott Boston Peabody completed a $3.5 million renovation, refurbishing guest rooms and the lobby and pool areas. There are five meeting rooms on-property, including a 200-person ballroom.
The boutique D. Hotel in Holyoke is concluding a renovation. For groups, the 62-room hotel offers a shuttle van, an assortment of meeting rooms and event assistance, and is attached to the Delaney House, a popular venue in Western Massachusetts.
The new Renaissance Inn Springfield-Chicopee opened in Chicopee, featuring 115 guest rooms and a 40-person meeting space.
New Jersey
Caesars Entertainment broke ground on a 250,000-square-foot meeting and conference facility in Atlantic City. Officials hope the project will complement the Atlantic City Convention Center and stimulate mid-week business in the region. The facility will add 125,000 square feet of meeting space, including with two pillarless ballrooms and 27 breakout rooms.
New York
The Andaz Wall Street added new event space on its recently updated concourse level, which was damaged by Hurricane Sandy in 2012. It totals 7,000 square feet, an increase of 3,000 square feet from before the renovation. The 4,700-square-foot gallery can host up to 450 people. The fitness center on the same level was also renovated. The Andaz offers 253 guest rooms and a total of 10,000 square feet of function space.
The Hilton Times Square updated all 460 of its guest rooms as part of a $15 million renovation. The hotel is located in the heart of Times Square on top of 335,000 square feet of retail space, and offers 5,500 square feet of event space.
Ontario
The 433-room International Plaza Hotel & Conference Center Toronto Airport opened across from the Toronto Congress Center and near Toronto Pearson International Airport. The hotel offers 17 meeting rooms, including two ballrooms measuring 10,000 and 15,000 square feet.
Vermont
Hilton Burlington is renovating its common spaces, lobby and outdoor space. The $6 million project is expected to be complete in early 2014.
The Hilton Garden Inn Burlington–Downtown is scheduled to open in 2014 with 139 guest rooms.
