Major Makeover for Mesquite Meetings Magnet

MESQUITE, Texas

The Hampton Inn & Suites Dallas – Mesquite invites guests to enjoy the southwestern ambiance and enhanced functionality of its newly renovated public spaces, including the integration of Mesquite history and arts into its lobby décor and exhibit space. The 160-room/54-suite hotel recently completed a nine-month makeover focused on improved convenience for hotel and convention guests.

The Hampton Inn & Suites Dallas – Mesquite is owned and operated by Springfield-based John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts, which also manages the Mesquite Convention Center & Exhibit Hall, owned by the City of Mesquite. In September, the company appointed Lawrence Williams as the hotel's new general manager. The 20-year hotel veteran most recently served as assistant general manager at John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts' Renaissance Dallas Richardson Hotel.

Upon entering the refreshed lobby of the Hampton Inn & Suites Dallas – Mesquite, guests are welcomed by a color palette that draws inspiration from a southwestern sunset with hues of brown, burgundy, mustard yellow and light green. A stone fireplace is the center of the relaxed social setting complete with large sofas, community tables, electronic device recharge stations and free Wi-Fi that encourage collaboration and connection among hotel visitors.

The renovation of the hotel's public spaces includes new front desk millwork, tile flooring and regional artwork that dots the walls of the lobby and contributes to the Texas heritage motif. The hotel also renovated the on-site fitness center to meet Hampton brand's "jumpstart fitness" program.

Another significant component of the hotel's recent capital improvements includes the installation of an enhanced wireless network tailored to the convention space and offering 24/7 tech support to convention-goers. The design allows tech support to dial into the specific meeting space's IP address to reconcile any IT problems convention guests encounter and at no charge to attendees/planners.

In addition, the hotel now has the ability to direct 100 MB of bandwidth into a specific space, providing efficient and fast Internet access to convention attendees where and when they need it.

The hotel offers more than 65,000 gross square feet of flexible meeting space, with 17 configurations, ranging from an 18,000-square-foot ballroom, to a 35,000-square-foot exhibition space, to the 5,500-seat indoor Mesquite Arena, with ample free parking at the hotel, convention and expo areas.
