Spa sojourns in Denver, Boulder and Colorado Springs

Somewhere inside every outdoorsy attendee is the desire to be pampered after playing in Colorado’s elements. To that end, the state’s group-friendly destinations have groups covered, as they’re home to some of the most luxurious spas in the country.

Following are three tempting options.

Four Seasons Hotel Denver Spa, which features 10 treatment rooms, eucalyptus steam rooms and relaxation lounges for men and women, was recently named among the top 50 hotel spas in the U.S., ranking No. 15 in Conde Nast Traveler’s 2014 readers’ poll.

For groups with time to spare, the signature Ormus ritual, a three-hour, high-altitude revitalizing treatment that includes a salt bath and massage with oils, is recommended.

“We also tailor ‘executive express treatments’ in our spa, such as hairstyling, manicures and massages,” says Jim Guttau, spokesman for the hotel. “Some female executives have enjoyed ‘up-dos’ in our salon after a long day of meetings, making them immediately ready for a night on the town.”

And male attendees also appreciate the availability of the salon for haircuts, beard trims and neck trims, according to Guttau, who adds that spa treatments are available in meeting rooms, such as chair massages.

The Boulder-based Dragontree Holistic Day Spa features the spacious Sangha Room, a community space that accommodates 10 attendees who will sip fine teas and experience footbaths and head, neck, shoulder, scalp and foot massages as they enjoy the company of their co-workers, according to Charity Tamsberg, spokeswoman for the spa.

“The Dragontree’s Moroccan decor and warm, inviting colors will immediately transport guests to a place of deep peace and relaxation,” she says, adding that the spa specializes in Ayurvedic treatments, massage, facials and acupuncture.

For any party over four guests, there is an on-site group planner available to assist with organizing a spa event, during which a hosted lunch is optional, or groups may bring in their own food and drinks.

The Spa at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs is an oasis featuring exquisite decor and blissful treatments, according to Allison Scott, spokeswoman for the resort.

“The Spa at The Broadmoor has many specialty treatments, along with the complement of services most spa-goers expect in facials and massage, as well as salon,” she says.

Signature treatments here include a chardonnay sugar scrub, rosemary almond body polish and hydrotherapy.

Appointments are available for groups as part of their visit, and Scott says private group gatherings are determined by spa representatives and the meeting planner, based on a buyout of the spa.

“The spa will work with a group to meet their needs,” she says.
