Key Notes: A Full-Steam Summer (September 2015)

As we cruise into fall we’ve got more than a few things cooking on the front burner, so stay tuned as there are lots of goings-ons here at Meetings Focus as we peer into the end of the year.

First off, we’re happy to announce we’re launching a new monthly e-newsletter starring our intrepid blogger and social media maven Joan Eisenstodt. Called “Friday With Joan,” this new dispatch from one of the leading lights of the meetings industry will explore the topics that shape our profession, along with relaying tips to help planners further their education and discover new facets of the meetings world.

I’m sure you’ll agree that Joan will serve up some interesting food for thought, and may even push a few buttons along the way, so look for “Friday With Joan” coming to an inbox near you, and make sure to join in the conversation!

The September issue also marks our annual “Best Of” awards in which you, our meeting planner readers, vote for your top hotels and resorts in North America.

The criteria is relatively simple, being based on the quality of meeting space; guest rooms; services and amenities; food and beverage; tech and bandwidth support; recreational facilities/activities; the helpfulness of staff; and overall value and experience. Turn to the each regional destination section to find out who rose to the top in this year’s competition.

Finally, as is the case with many of you, we’ve had a busy summer hitting some of the major meetings industry events, starting with DMAI’s Annual Convention last June in Austin and then followed up by a jam-packed August, with MPI WEC in San Francisco and ASAE’s Annual Meeting in Detroit the following week!

Check out the Events section of MeetingsFocus.com to see our coverage. Sure, it’s been a busy summer, but stay tuned for even more exciting happenings on the horizon!
