ONE UN New York Continues Renovation

NEW YORK

Millennium Hotels and Resorts announced the second phase of renovations for ONE UN New York, which began this week. Along with the $30-million makeover of 154 West Tower rooms and suites in 2012, the total investment will be $70 million once this next phase is complete.

Part of the hotel closed on Sunday, Nov. 15, to start work on the transformation of 285 guest rooms and suites in the East Tower. Upon completion in spring 2016, the spacious accommodations, ranging in size from 240 square feet to 510 square feet for the one-bedroom duplex suites, will reportedly combine “understated luxury” with modern amenities and stylish, warm interiors in bronze and taupe hues.

Additional upgrades include renovations to the hotel's meeting and event space, along with the debut of a new restaurant and bar concept. ONE UN New York offers 7,500 square feet of meeting space.

"We look forward to showcasing the new look to our distinguished guests," said Colin Wang, vice president operations, North America. "The completion of refurbishments to ONE UN New York will make it the sixth Millennium property to see extensive upgrades in the past two years.”

Located directly across from one of the world's great landmarks, the headquarters of the United Nations, ONE UN New York has long been the preferred choice for visiting dignitaries and heads of state, diplomats, and discerning corporate and leisure travelers.

The hotel offers panoramic vistas of Manhattan with views of the Empire State Building, Chrysler Building, as well as the East River. Within walking distance of Grand Central Terminal, the Broadway Theater District and Fifth Avenue shopping, the property is centrally located within the city.
