5 Quick Corporate Tips

  1. Stay flexible. Everyone has a different working style, from making checklists to writing on a white board or using sticky notes by the case. What matters is how well you execute on-site to meet attendees’ needs and your internal customers’ needs.
  2. If you ever find yourself saying, “It’s good enough for this event,” it isn’t. Go back and do it right.
  3. Trust in yourself. Doing something new can be scary and exciting at the same time. If you are scared and excited and as prepared as you can be for that new challenge, just do it!
  4. Start your professional education early. Even if MPI, PCMA and other memberships come out of your own pocket, membership can be invaluable in helping you grow professionally.
  5. Stay current with the latest industry technology. Not just the latest meeting or audience response apps, but spreadsheets, presentations, registration, scheduling, procurements, communications, all of the behind-the-scenes workhorses that keep events running on time, on budget and on schedule.
