Graduate Bloomington Opens Near Indiana University

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.

Graduate Bloomington is open near Indiana University’s campus. The 150-room hotel’s design honors the city's personality and pays tribute to its famed basketball culture and team spirit. The hotel's food and beverage outlet, Poindexter Coffee, will open at the end of December.

Created for travelers who seek memory-making journeys, Graduate Hotels is a crafted collection of hotels that reside in dynamic university-anchored cities across the country. Each property celebrates and commemorates the optimistic energy of its community, while offering an extended retreat to places that often play host to the best days of our lives.

"With its rich history and dynamic culture, we're honored to be joining the Bloomington community," says Stephanie Harris, general manager of Graduate Bloomington. "The hotel's elevated level of creativity and innovation is a reflection of that."

More than 20 unique wallpapers decorate the hotel walls, each one a tribute to different aspects of Bloomington life. A Tibetan pattern honors the Dalai Llama's many visits to the community, while a custom bicycle wallpaper is a nod to Little 500. The crossword puzzle floor was inspired by IU-alum Will Shortz, crossword puzzle editor at The New York Times. To celebrate Indiana basketball, the lobby is outfitted with a collection of bleachers sourced from local gyms and chandeliers made from vintage basketball hoops. Guests will discover multiple references to the classic film Hoosiers, including picket-fence blankets, championship banners and keycards featuring the movie characters.

Located on Graduate Bloomington's lobby-level, Poindexter Coffee has something for appetites of all sizes. Breakfast offerings include coffee, smoothies, cold brew and Poindexter's game-changing egg sandwiches. Lunch and dinner menus feature fresh salads, soups, small plates, burgers and more.

Graduate Bloomington features more than 8,600 square feet of meeting and event space, including three ballrooms, two outdoor terraces, and a courtyard. With its convenient Kirkwood Avenue location, the hotel is a perfect spot for social gatherings, receptions, corporate meetings and much more. The hotel also features a full level of parking on the second floor.
