11 Compelling Off-Site Event Venue Options in the San Francisco Bay Area

There is no shortage of unique off-site venues throughout the Bay Area, including a host of new options for groups.

In San Francisco, Onedome is a new immersive arts venue that spans 20,000 square feet over two floors for up to about 600 total capacity. Among the spaces include a 10,000-square-foot labyrinth of digital art, with 14 interactive rooms and installations on the lower ground floor with a capacity of 150.

The Unreal Garden is surrounded by multidimensional plants and creatures using augmented reality, projection mapping, soundscapes. There is also a lounge and cafe area with seating for 75 and additional standing room for another 75.

For an outdoor experience Stagecoach Greens is a new mini-golf course in Mission Bay that can cater to groups.

Esports Arena Oakland located off Jack London Square in the Warehouse District caters to groups. The space is completely modular, making it easy for groups to configure events, including setting up tournaments for teambuilding. According to Rhanee Palma, vice president of sales and services for Visit Oakland, the NBA’s Golden State Warriors even used it for private events during the finals last season.

Oakstop is another new option in Oakland. The space helps incubating startups, but also offers a variety of options for meetings.

For off-sites, The UC Theatre in Berkeley opened a few years ago and presents live music. For groups it is open for day and evening rentals. Capacity is 1,000 for a reception and 400 for banquets.

Another unique spot in Berkeley is Glassybaby a glassblowing studio and industrial space for groups.

Concord’s Epidemic Ales, which debuted a couple of years ago, is a 5,000 square foot facility is tucked away in Concord’s industrial park and can host groups.

In Livermore, Murrieta’s Well recently completed a major renovation that expanded the winery’s patio and revamped the tasting room.

Marin County’s San Rafael is a haven for breweries, including the upcoming Tamalpais Brewery & Tap Room, which will have a rooftop garden open to groups. San Rafael is also developing a brewery map, including new breweries such as Pond Farm Brewing Co., slated to open early 2019.

Bottle and Bottega in Belmont offers group painting, cocktails and catering. Groups can organize a teambuilding exercise with painting along with an instructor as well.
