Hotel del Coronado Taps Michael Tuesca as Director of New Luxury Hotel

Michael Tuesca

Hotel del Coronado, part of Curio Collection by Hilton, has selected Michael Tuesca as director of its new luxury hotel, Shore House at The Del, which debuts September 2022. The new residential-style hotel boasts 75 one-, two- and three-bedroom residences overlooking the seaside.

“Shore House at The Del marks the completion of our Master Plan reimagination, so it was imperative for us to have an adept leader dedicated to continuing to elevate the Hotel del Coronado guest experience through Shore House,” said Harold Rapoza, Jr., general manager of Hotel del Coronado. “Michael is a well-rounded leader and a passionate hospitalitarian who will help Shore House usher in an exciting chapter for the resort.”

Tuesca joins the oceanfront resort in San Diego with more than two decades of hospitality experience working for prestigious hospitality brands including IHG Hotels and Resorts, The Ritz-Carlton Luxury Hotels and Resorts, Wynn Resorts, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, Fairmont Hotels and Resorts and more.

As part of his new role, Tuesca will be responsible for directing all aspects of operations for the hotel, including promoting and maintaining exceptional service standards from resort entrance and valet greeting, to poolside service, to dedicated concierge service and beyond.

“It is humbling to have the opportunity to be a part of the history and the legacy that The Del continues to create in the world of hospitality,” Tuesca said. “I could not be more excited to join this legendary team and to assist in providing discerning travelers a new sophisticated modern beach house experience that surpasses their expectations and creates new memories for years to come.”
