MAP Digital Launches Fast Pass Badging by MetaMeetings

MAP Digital, a global digital events agency, announced the launch of Fast Pass Badging by MetaMeetings, offering a rapid and efficient event-badging and schedule-printing process that eliminates lines and allows attendees to get to business quickly. The software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution is the first of its kind from the MAP Digital MetaMeetings platform.

“Badging is not the newest thing in the world, but it is still the bane of most planners and most event experiences,” said Mary Ann Pierce, founder and CEO of MAP Digital. “The first impression is mission critical, and we wanted to have an attendee-centric experience that surprised and delighted them, so we looked very critically at the process of getting the badge to the attendee.”

Using an individualized QR code-based system, Fast Pass Badging allows attendees to check themselves in and print both their badge and one-on-one appointment schedule in seconds at a standalone kiosk. The SaaS solution eradicates long lines, out-of-the-way registration halls and time-demanding registration processes by putting the attendee’s experience at the center, therefore reducing the stress of organizers in determining the easiest route to registration at events.

“This is a great opportunity for planners and organizers to make more money and make their attendees happy,” Pierce said. “Why get them a badge super-fast if they have to go wait in another line to get their one-on-one schedule? We compressed the whole process, and when you show your QR code at a standalone kiosk, we recognize you right away.”

Enhanced and streamlined badging services offer benefits to both event-goers and organizers, including brand enhancement as a result of positive customer experiences. More efficient onsite badging also serves to generate revenue, Pierce noted, as less time spent waiting to check in means more time conducting meetings and business.

MAP Digital rolled Fast Pass Badging out in January at what Pierce described as the largest investment banking conference in the world, where 10,000 attendees checked in using the new SaaS solution.

“We had people hugging us. The security guards who have worked at this conference for many years go, ‘What did you do? These people have never seemed so happy,’” Pierce said. “We have never seen so many smiles, so many people so happy, and I’ve been working on events for 27 years. And what does that say to the client? They’ll do better business, and they’ll make more trades. They get to business faster.”
