Sister Tampa Marriotts Promote and Hire Directors for Sales, Marketing and Catering

JW Marriott Tampa Water Street and sister location Tampa Marriott Water Street have hired directors for sales, marketing and catering.

Erica Tortora was appointed director of marketing for the sister hotels.

Tortora has 10 years of luxury hospitality experience. Her last position before the promotion to director of marketing was senior marketing manager. Tortora has represented hotels from the Fairmont Hotels and Resorts and Park Hyatt brands, joining the Marriott brand in 2021 as communications manager at The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach.

Derek Wood was hired as director of sales. In his position, Wood will manage all sales operations.

Wood has over 15 years of experience with Marriott hotels. He held the position of associate director of sales for the JW Marriott Orlando Bonnet Creek Resort and Spa. At this position he was charged with overseeing the daily operations of the catering and sales team at the resort.

Brittany Erigo, formerly a senior catering sales executive, has been promoted to director of catering.

Erigo previously worked at Walt Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort as event services coordinator, Visit Tampa Bay as convention sales coordinator, Tampa Club as private events coordinator and at ZooTampa at Lowry Park as director of convention and corporate sales.

“We’ve built an incredibly talented group of hospitality industry experts here on Water Street,” said Ron McAnaugh, the properties’ general manager. “We are confident this leadership team will further enhance our properties' reputation as the top lodging option in Tampa's downtown.”
