Longtime Industry Technology Expert Corbin Ball Retires at 75

Corbin Ball Headshot

International speaker, consultant, frequent Meetings Today contributor and meetings technology expert Corbin Ball announced his plans to retire and close his long-running website and blog Corbinball.com January 31. Ball said in a post on his website that he looks forward to spending time with friends and family and plans to travel, volunteer, and audit courses to expand his knowledge.

“I started my speaking, consulting and writing business focusing on event technology one year before Google,” Ball said in a post on his website. “Since then, I have had the good fortune to speak before tens of thousands of event professionals in 35 countries. I have consulted with hundreds of organizations and have written hundreds of articles for dozens of publications. Additionally, I built this site which, for many years, was the largest and most comprehensive event tech site on the web. It has been a very fun ride of which I have enjoyed nearly every minute during this past 27 years.”

Ball began his career helping to run city-wide technology meetings before transitioning in 1997 to become a full-time event technology speaker and consultant. Ball has been recognized many times for his work in the meetings and events industry, including in 2018, when he was inducted into the Event Industry Council's Hall of Leaders. He is also the only person to have received both the MPI International Supplier of the Year, MPI International Chapter Leader of the Year awards, and was named a Meetings Today Trendsetter.
