Visit Atlantic City issued the following statement in recognizing Harvey’s dedication and success at the DMO and in the meetings and events industry:

“The Visit Atlantic City organization is heartbroken and deeply saddened to announce that Sandi Harvey, the former vice president of sales for Visit Atlantic City, passed away from cancer over the weekend as her family gathered by her side. For over 25 years, Sandi worked tirelessly in the tourism and hospitality industry where she worked her way to the top as a female executive leading, mentoring and championing efforts in Atlantic City. She was a shining star and a bright light to everyone she met. This is a great loss to the organization, industry and community.”

Harvey began her career in Atlantic City in 1983 as the manager of hotel sales at the Sands Hotel & Casino and started at the Atlantic City CVB (now Visit Atlantic City) in 1995, working her way up through various positions to the executive level at the DMO.

Harvey earned the admiration of her hospitality industry colleagues during her career, becoming a beloved fixture in the community and civic leader representing an industry that is one of the biggest employers in southern New Jersey, with the casino segment alone generating more than $3.3 billion in net revenue in 2023, according to the Casino Association of New Jersey.
