A $1.3 Billion Resort and More Updates on West New and Renovated Properties

Arizona

Grand Hyatt Scottsdale Resort unveiled its newly expanded Arizona Ballroom, marking the end of the property’s $115 million renovation project. The project doubled the size of the ballroom to 24,000 square feet, making it one of the largest event spaces in the region and bringing the resort’s total meeting and event space to a total of 90,000 square feet. Other venues include 42 meeting rooms, 35,000 square feet of outdoor venues and 10,000 square feet of prefunction space. The property also provides amenities such onsite audiovisual support and high-speed internet access.

The resort has 496 guest rooms, including 32 suites and 14 accessible rooms. Grand Hyatt Scottsdale Resort also has multiple onsite dining venues, such as modern Italian restaurant La Zozzona, small-plate eatery Tiki Taka and Southwestern grill Mesa Centrale. The property also has a spa with 19 treatment rooms, 10 pools, a beach, fitness center, 27-hole golf course and cultural activities tailored for groups.

California

Cambria Hotel Imperial-El Centro opened and serves as the only full-service hotel in the Imperial Valley area. The property is located close to attractions such as the Algodones Dunes, Anza-Borrego Desert State Park and Colorado River and is two hours from San Diego. The hotel also has multiple amenities, including the 1905 Bar & Grill , a fitness center and an indoor heated pool.

Cambria Hotel Imperial-El Centro’s 2,050-square-foot Imperial Room can accommodate up to 228 attendees and offers state-of-the-art AV equipment that includes a projector, screen, microphones, speakers and video conferencing capabilities along with onsite technical support. The property also has onsite catering options with custom menus available and special rates available for groups.

Idaho

Downtown Boise’s historic log building, The Cabin, is undergoing a renovation project that will double the property’s usable space, including a pen-and-paint studio, writer’s den, meeting space, reading loft and additional office space.

The event space will be roughly 2,000 square feet and broken into three basement classrooms, approximately 1,000 square feet of reception space on the first floor and a small outdoor amphitheater that can accommodate between 50 and 75 attendees. The project will preserve The Cabin’s original woodwork while modernizing its interior, with indoor renovations planned to be completed by summer and outdoor features completed by year-end.

A $1.3 Billion Debut

Located 10 miles south of San Diego International Airport and sitting on 36 acres of waterfront property, the Gaylord Pacific Resort & Convention Center is the largest hotel build on the West Coast and the first California property to join the Gaylord portfolio.

The $1.3 billion resort is planned to open May 15 and feature 1,600 guest rooms, including 89 suites, and include amenities such as a 4.25-acre outdoor waterpark and 12 culinary venues, ranging from fine dining options to more-casual food and beverage venues like the expansive glass atrium bar, Oeste. The property also has an award-winning onsite spa and over 477,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space. The resort is a seven-minute drive from downtown San Diego and located close to attractions such as the San Diego Zoo and the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center. 

The property’s event space will include a 135,000-square-foot event lawn and terrace, 67 breakout rooms and four ballrooms. Upon completion, the Gaylord Pacific will house the largest convention center of any hotel in the San Diego region and the largest ballroom in the area, the 140,049-square-foot California Ballroom & Exhibit Hall.
