Bishop-McCann Ups Incentives Effort Via MTI Events Acquisition

Global meetings, events and incentives company Bishop-McCann is bolstering its incentive travel footprint with the acquisition of Kansas City-based event and incentive travel company MTI Events.

MTI Events has operated in the incentive travel segment for 35 years and represents the third acquisition in five years for Bishop-McCann, which is also based in Kansas City.

“This is more than a business move; it’s a values match,” said Rob Adams, CEO and partner of Bishop-McCann. “We’ve long admired MTI Events for its people-first philosophy, deep incentive expertise and ability to deliver memorable, joyful experiences. Bringing MTI into the Bishop-McCann team allows us to serve our clients with even greater creativity, scale and strategic insight.”

Bishop-McCann said the move to increase its incentive travel offering comes at a time when the segment is experiencing major growth, citing the 2024 Incentive Travel Index, an annual study produced by SITE and the Incentive Research Foundation that found 58% of senior leadership view incentive travel as playing a more distinct role in motivation and culture building.

MTI Events said the acquisition will serve to bolster its presence in the incentives segment.

"I am very excited about this acquisition,” said Melissa DeLeon, president of MTI Events. “Thanks to our incredible team and loyal clients, it has been an unforgettable journey, and we’re just getting started. This milestone is a celebration of everything we've built and a bold step into an exciting new chapter. Joining forces with Bishop-McCann gives us the opportunity to elevate our work even further, combining our expertise with theirs to deliver world-class incentive programs that truly inspire.”

Adams will continue to lead Bishop-McCann while DeLeon will serve as Bishop-McCann’s strategic advisor of incentive travel.

Bishop-McCann is a three-time Motivation Masters award winner and finalist of the SITE Crystal Awards. Kansas City Business Journal has named MTI Events to its list of Top 25 Women-Owned Businesses in Kansas City.
