Explore Asheville named travel and hospitality veteran Ed Silver as the organization’s new vice president of business development effective September 8. In his new role, Silver will lead Explore Asheville’s business development strategy, focusing on creating new partnerships and growing meetings and group travel to the area.
“Ed brings a proven ability to grow business, build relationships and lead teams,” Vic Isley, president and CEO of Explore Asheville and the Buncombe County Tourism Development Authority, said in a press release. “With his thoughtful vision and leadership, we are confident he will amplify Asheville’s appeal and deliver measurable results for our community.”
Silver has more than 25 years of experience including holding executive leadership roles at Flight Centre Travel Group, iSeatz and the Global Business Travel Association. He also co-founded lodging.com and serves as a frequent speaker at national industry conferences and events.
