In an effort to support the next generation of students who are interested in pursuing a career in travel, tourism and hospitality, Destinations International (DI) launched a scholarship and professional development program, "Pathways to Success."

Eligible students who are pursuing degrees in hospitality or tourism management and are enrolled in an accredited university across the United States and Canada are able to apply.

Applications are live now through January 20, 2026. Recipients will be awarded tuition assistance, one-on-one mentorship, industry exposure, participation at DI events and meaningful connections with destination professionals.

The program was designed to lessen financial barriers for students and equip them with the tools and networks needed to build a career in tourism.

“The future of our industry depends on the leaders we nurture today,” said Don Welsh, president and CEO of Destinations International, in a press release. “Pathways to Success reflects our belief that investing in young professionals strengthens our destinations, our communities and our industry as a whole.”

DI also invites companies and community partners to make charitable contributions to help expand the program. Learn more about how you can help support students pursuing careers in tourism.

“Workforce development is essential to building a more dynamic and resilient travel and tourism ecosystem,” said Sophia Hyder Hock, chief impact officer at Destinations International, in a press release.
