On Your Way to An Event? Workers on Strike at 4 U.S. Airports

Workers at Miami International Airport (MIA), Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL), John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) are striking to protest working conditions. Ramp and cargo workers, cabin cleaners and wheelchair attendants employed by Eulen America, an airline contractor for American Airlines and Delta, are protesting unfair labor practice complaints, unpaid wages and health and safety problems.

Radisson Blu Royal Viking Hotel, Stockholm completed a renovation project in time for its 35th anniversary. The new design concept at has been carried out by the renowned Spanish architectural studio Proyecto Singular. The hotel's 459 guest rooms, 15 meeting rooms and communal areas, including the lobby and bar, the Stockholm Fisk restaurant and the atrium area have all been transformed.

JW Marriott Grosvenor House London Completes Renovations

JW Marriott Grosvenor House London completed its full-scale renovation. The project included its 420 guest rooms and public spaces. Directed by Hirsch Bedner Associates and GA Design, the complete transformation incorporates a fresh take on present-day design while honoring the rich heritage of the property.

Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia Readies for Opening

The new Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia at Comcast Center is located atop the 1,121-foot Comcast Technology Center in the city’s downtown. There will be unobstructed views from the 48th to 60th floors at the building’s very summit. The 219-room Hotel, which also includes new restaurant concepts by Jean-Georges Vongerichten and Greg Vernick, a full-floor spa and wellness sanctuary and extensive meeting spaces, is set to open August 12.

Bethesda North Marriott Completes Renovation

Bethesda North Marriott Hotel & Conference Center completed a renovation that included its meeting and event space. The Rockville hotel features 455 guest rooms and VIP suites, 50,000 square feet of function space and new food and beverage options including The Corby Kitchen.

Viceroy Hotels & Resorts Adds Two Washington, D.C., Hotels to Its Portfolio

Viceroy Hotels & Resorts will take over management of Donovan Hotel D.C. and Mason & Rook Hotel D.C. as of July 1. Mason & Rook is located in D.C.’s 14th Street corridor, a trendy eating and drinking epicenter for locals and visitors alike offering a metropolitan alternative to traditional D.C. hotels. Just off of Thomas Circle lies Donovan Hotel. This prime location offers a wealth of social and cultural activities with close proximity to the Metro, the Convention Center and White House.

Proper Hotel Debuts in Santa Monica

Santa Monica Proper Hotel opened, fusing a circa-1928, Arthur E. Harvey-designed Spanish Colonial Revival building with sleek new construction to create a new 271-room hotel. Designed by iconic interior designer Kelly Wearstler, the historic building features Spanish architecture and Moorish details throughout and local artists and designers add a touch of Santa Monica layered with soft colors and textures, natural sunlight, and ocean breezes.

Casino Del Sol and Casino of the Sun Add Event Space

Casino Del Sol completed a 9,600-square-foot expansion to its existing conference center and its sister property, Casino of the Sun, just opened the Sunset Room, a brand-new event center. The all-new 11,000-square-foot Sunset Room is located adjacent to Casino of the Sun and can host up to approximately 750 guests.
