The Hotel Zags Portland, previously Hotel Modera, is open in downtown Portland. The 174-room hotel underwent a full renovation, transformation and rebranding.
The property is now the sixth “Z Hotel” in the “Unofficial Z Collection,” the company’s individually curated portfolio of urban lifestyle hotels, and the first Z Hotel located outside of San Francisco.
The hotel explores the relationship between nature, art and play through a local Portland lens and is inspired by the eccentric art culture of the quirky Portland area. Guests escape to this urban oasis as they are welcomed by a courtyard bathed in lush local greenery, with living walls, an artistic “globed” fireplace and an environmentally friendly green roof.
The hotel boasts a new Gear Shed fully equipped with everything needed for an experiential urban adventure in the Portland area, including scooters, skateboards and bicycles, Go-Pros, cameras and binoculars, backpacks and fishing rods, and more, allowing travelers to connect with the city’s local hidden gems and distinctive energy, all free of charge.
The Colosseum Game Room, The Hotel Zags Portland
The Colosseum is an onsite adult game room hotel guests and groups can enjoy. The space has capacity for 90 people and is equipped with table-top shuffleboard, a pool table, videogames, darts, and many family-oriented games providing fun for all. Guests will also have access to a one-of-a-kind vending machine that distributes artwork from local artists.
There are also two traditional meeting rooms that can be used separately or combined.
Guest rooms are newly redesigned and completely renovated, and the hotel features six suites, freshly reimagined with vibrant colors mirroring the nearby Columbia River Gorge.
“We are thrilled to announce The Hotel Zags Portland as the newest addition to our growing Unofficial Z Collection,” said Jon E. Bortz, chairman, president and CEO of Pebblebrook Hotel Trust. “The active nature and distinctive culture of Portland make this hotel the perfect addition to our already unique experiential portfolio of Z-named hotels.
“Business and leisure travelers alike can connect with the environment and experience Portland while enjoying our property’s modern elements and fun design,” he added.
The Hotel Zags Portland will continue to be managed by Sage Hospitality.
