Hotel West + Main will feature a design that creatively tells the story of the one-square-mile town of Conshohocken, Pennsylvania. Hotel West + Main will be physically connected to a 146-year-old historic firehouse, which will become home to the hotel lobby and food and beverage spaces. IIG will enhance the existing ornate detailing within the firehouse to maintain authenticity.

The project will be the first newly constructed hotel in Conshohocken since 2001 and is expected to open in late 2022.

Plus: A Modern Space Nods to the Past

NYC-based Stonehill Taylor has designed and recently completed The Schuyler—an event space for the Hamilton Hotel Washington D.C., a historic and luxury hotel in the U.S. capital’s downtown area.

Listed on the D.C. Register of Historic Places and the National Register of Historic Places, the hotel has hosted many entertainers and political figures, and has been the site for several presidential inaugural balls.

Hamilton Hotel Washington D.C. is in close proximity to city landmarks like The White House and The Capitol. The new event space is named after Eliza Schuyler—the wife of Alexander Hamilton and a member of the prominent Schuyler family—and her sisters Peggy and Angelica.

Stonehill Taylor was inspired by the site’s rich history and used a contemporary take on 1920’s Art Deco aesthetic to usher in a new era of gathering. A pre-function space features a center hall and rooms with coffered ceilings and modern wall sconces, while the two-level 6,900-square-foot main event space fits up to 700 people in the reception area and can transform to adapt to any kind of event. Because there are no windows in the space, Stonehill Taylor incorporated the illusion of daylight with 12-foot-high lighting features.
