Arizona

The newly renovated Sheraton Phoenix Downtown, Arizona’s largest hotel (with 1,003 rooms) located in the heart of downtown, has officially reopened its doors after closing in March 2020. The property is one of the first to display Sheraton’s new “signature key elements,” which include community-minded spaces and contemporary design.

Upgrades include a new 19,000-square-foot lobby that acts as a public square for the hotel. The focal point of the lobby is the “Community Table,” a purpose-built workspace that allows guests to work, eat and drink and soak up the energy around them. The custom-designed tables have built-in lighting, outlets and wireless charging stations.

The lobby also features soundproof booths that are ideal for spontaneous phone calls to connect privately. Outside of the hotel’s existing 110,000-plus square feet of meeting space, guests can now also book one of the lobby’s six “studios,” built on raised platforms and enclosed with glass, as flexible gathering spaces.

All of the hotel’s guest rooms received major refreshes that include platform beds, houndstooth chairs, statement walls, height-adjustable work tables and 65-inch mounted TVs.

The property also features an upgraded Sheraton Club Lounge, an exclusive space for Marriott Bonvoy Elite members and guests purchasing Sheraton Club access.

This June, there will be an exciting new addition at the Monterey Conference Center in Monterey, California. In partnership with Immersive Design Studios, the meeting facility plans to open a 10,000-square-foot CANVAS Studio, a state-of-the-art space available for virtual or hybrid meetings and events.

Located on the second floor of the center within the Steinbeck Ballroom, the studio is equipped with 360-degree wraparound screens and Immersive Design Studios’ CANVAS software platform. For more authentic two-way interactivity, meeting and event speakers can see thousands of remote attendees up on the screens at once, with the flexibility to zoom in on any individual for more personal interactions.

For hybrid events, the studio can seat 80 in-person attendees comfortably.

In April, Hilton Hotels & Resorts and Westmont Hospitality Group opened Hilton Santa Monica Hotel & Suites, located just a few blocks from the shores of the Pacific Ocean. Offering 286 guest rooms (211 of them suites), the property draws its aesthetics from the Southern California coast and the tech innovation happening at Silicon Beach.

In the lobby, guests can expect a hand-painted mural by local Los Angeles-based artist collective Hattas and a co-working space with a biophilia wall and ceiling skylights. Other amenities include an outdoor pool with cabanas, 24-hour fitness center and more than 10,000 square feet of flexible event space.

The Hilton took over the former DoubleTree Suites after two years of renovations.

The JW Marriott brand has opened its fifth luxury property in Mexico with the 250-room JW Marriott Monterrey Valle, located near the Sierra Madre mountain range and in the heart of San Pedro Garza Garcia.

Many of the hotel’s design details are inspired by themes of wellness and mindfulness—with a muted, calming color palette and spa-inspired showers and floor-to-ceiling windows. The property also features a Spa by JW that features private treatment rooms, a salon, sauna, steam room and in-suite massages.

Other amenities include an outdoor pool, a 24-hour fitness center and plenty of dining options. This includes Orfebre Cocina Artesana from renowned chef Sergi Arola and The Executive Lounge, an ideal spot for breakfast with a view. The lobby bar also offers small bites and signature cocktails.

As the hotel is located in the heart of Monterrey’s business district, it’s a prime spot to host a variety of events. There are nine event rooms spanning a total of more than 10,000 square feet.

The hotel is in close proximity to popular shopping centers like Paseo San Pedro and Parque Arboleda. And guests have access to cultural attractions such as Parque Fundidora, Chipinque National Park, Santa Lucia Riverwalk and the renowned museum of contemporary art, MARCO.
