Chicago's Recently Renovated Hotel and More Mid-American Updates

Located in the heart of Chicago’s entertainment, cultural and business district, theWit hotel is set to finish the final stages of a multimillion-dollar renovation this month. Alongside the renovation comes a rebranding, as theWit becomes theWit, a Hilton Hotel, reflecting its newly reimagined accommodations and guest experiences aligning with the Hilton brand. 

The 310-room hotel in Chicago’s downtown Loop district immerses guests in the city’s theater, shopping, dining and entertainment scenes and offers 36 suites, a full-service spa and fitness center, and the signature tavern-style restaurant, State and Lake Chicago Tavern, as well as the premier rooftop restaurant and bar, ROOF on theWit, one of Chicago’s most sought-after rooftops. 

The AAA Four-Diamond hotel offers more than 14,000 square feet of event space, including the recently remodeled ROOF on theWit, 7,000 square feet of ballroom space on the hotel’s third and fourth floors and the second-floor Gateway Room, featuring immersive video walls, floor-to-ceiling windows and views of State Street.

Lake Geneva’s only full-service resort, The Abbey Resort and Avani Spa, announced the completion of its multi-year, multimillion-dollar renovation in late March. The project, which aimed to fortify the resort as a leading year-round relaxation and rejuvenation destination, included renovations of 300 guest rooms, public space enhancements, a $2 million upgrade to the Avani Spa and the unveiling of culinary operations under new Executive Chef Luis Quezada. 

Entire-room upgrades include new window treatments, mattresses and bedding, modern furniture, lighting and electronics including new TVs and charging stations, as well as enhanced bathroom amenities and new carpet and wall coverings. 

The Avani Spa now includes 16 luxury treatment rooms, new couples’ suites, steam and sauna rooms and a large adult-only pool. Expanded spa services include innovative massages, aromatherapy and body treatments, and guests can take advantage of a revitalized menu of salon services like specialty manicures and pedicures. 

The Abbey Resort features 40,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space, including a 6,000-square-foot conference center and the divisible 10,010-square-foot Harbor Ballroom.
