Orange County Convention Center Opens Virtual Health Clinic

Visit Orlando and Orlando Health Officials at Grand Opening.

During the Covid pandemic, the U.S. saw rapid growth in its medical facilities and resources. Orlando is in step with that trend, with Visit Orlando partnering with the non-profit Orlando Health to create a virtual medical center within the Orange County Convention Center.

The convention center’s new Virtual Health Clinic allows attendees seeking medical evaluations to meet with a certified physician for an evaluation in a private room within its Care Center. They are able to evaluate ailments such as the flu and colds, rashes, allergies, sprains, bug bites and many more. The facility works in connection with a local pharmacy, allowing the ability to write prescriptions for convention center attendees to pick up conveniently. With an estimated time of 30 minutes per appointment, attendees can return to their event with little time lost.

During conventions, Orlando Health’s Virtual Care Center will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for conventioneers needing assistance from one of the triage staff. Virtual meetings with a board-certified physician are available 24 hours from any location, seven days a week.

Orange County Convention Center is just one facet of the new partnership between Visit Orlando and Orlando Health.

“The new Orlando Health Virtual Care Center elevates the services and resources we provide to groups and gives planners the confidence to choose Orlando knowing we value the health and wellness of their attendees.” said Casandra Matej, president and chief executive officer of Visit Orlando.

This clinic is just the start of the partnership, according to Visit Orlando, with Orlando Health and Visit Orlando working together beyond the Orange County Convention Center. Orlando Health provides medical benefits for all travelers in the area, offering medical services and health information directly from one of Florida’s most widespread medical centers.
