The Royal Lahaina Resort & Bungalows unveiled two renovated oceanfront spaces as part of the resort’s multimillion-dollar transformation. The property sits on 27 acres of Maui’s Kā'anapali Beach. The 333-room resort features more than 40,000 square feet of flexible indoor/outdoor meeting space. The newly reimagined venues—Hale Pi'ilani Room and the Sunset Room—complement the resort’s recent debut of the Spa at Royal Lahaina.

The Hale Pi'ilani Room is an indoor space with 12-foot ceilings that connect to the Hale Pi'ilani Lawn. Renovations nearly doubled the size of the room to 1,764 square feet. The oceanfront space is one of the most popular event areas at the resort. The room’s maximum capacity is 190. The Sunset Room is an intimate breakout room for executive sessions, small-group workshops and private dining. The 352-square-foot meeting space is suitable for up to 40 guests.

Newly renovated public spaces blend modern, expressive Santa Fe style with cultural vibrancy. The Leisure Club offers a refreshed pool deck with ivory outdoor sofas to present a stylish retreat with an outdoor pool, hot tub and sauna.

The 128 guest rooms embody a Southwestern style with rough-hewn ceiling beams, smoky green walls, wood-burning fireplaces and jetted tubs. The private balconies offer views of surrounding mountains. The hotel has 9,000 square feet of indoor/outdoor event space. The Maravilla Ballroom is suitable for larger functions while The Marigold Room and Lady Duff’s Lounge can be reserved for private parties and corporate dinners catered by the hotel. Lady Duff’s Lounge is a new cocktail bar that combines graphic prints with a terracotta color palette, drawing from the city’s rich folk-art heritage. The lounge serves elevated bar fare and prohibition-inspired cocktails.

The resort’s 345 guest rooms and 11 suites feature an ocean-inspired color palette that draws from Hawaiian island landscapes. The floor-to-ceiling windows and private lanais provide oceanfront views. Guest-room bathrooms offer basalt countertops sourced from Hawai’i Island. Other design elements in the guest rooms include custom woodwork.

The transformation also includes new offerings for oceanfront activities, wellness programs and cultural experiences. Drums and Dances of Polynesia is a weekly luau celebrating Pacific music, dance and storytelling. Guests are greeted with a lei and a chef-curated dinner. The evening comes to a close with hula performances and fire dancing. Cultural experiences are ongoing throughout the day, with hands-on workshops in ukulele, hula, lei-making and Koi fish feeding. In partnership with Kaua’i Beach Boys, guests can explore Kaua’i’s swimmable bays through surfing, canoeing, paddleboarding and guided snorkeling excursions. Lastly, Alexander Day Spa and Salon offer treatments inspired by native botanicals and traditional Hawaiian healing practices.
